BJP floor leader in the Telangana Assembly T Raja Singh today slammed the state government over the house arrests of BJP leaders who were planning to go to Jangaon district.
He said that the party leaders including MLA Eatala Rajender were going to the district to see the party's workers and leaders of the area who were beaten up by TRS leaders, but were placed under house arrest by the police to prevent them from undertaking their visit.
He said that the arrests were illegal and against democratic principles.
Speaking about the attack itself, he alleged that the local police had extended full support to the TRS workers during the attack, and that the police were booking illegal cases against those who were injured in the attacks by the TRS "goons", instead of against the actual perpetrators.
He added that the police were carrying out the "illegal" arrests upon the orders of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and that the people of the state would put KCR himself under house arrest at the latter's farmhouse in the future.
He also said that KCR was clearly scared of the BJP MPs and MLAs.
