Firebrand BJP MLA T Raja Singh today urged Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to announce a financial package for the development of his constituency, Goshamahal, and added that he was ready to even resign from his post if that would prompt the KCR regime to sanction funds for the constituency.
Speaking to the media, the MLA alleged that the CM thought about the SC, ST, BC, and minority communities of the state only when there was an election. He added that KCR had done this again by announcing packages in his bid to win the upcoming Huzurabad by-election.
"Several people in Telangana have been demanding that the MLAs of the state resign from their posts in order to secure developmental funds for their respective constituencies. I want to urge the CM to announce a good package for the SCs, STs, BCs and minorities of my constituency. If this is done, I will resign from my post," Singh reiterated.
The MLA is not the only one to have questioned KCR's commitment to social welfare. The latter has been drawing sharp criticism from many for his alleged attempt to use the recently announced Dalit Bandhu scheme to woo voters ahead of the Huzurabad by-election. Recently, TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy had also
flayed the leader for his "habit" of taking up welfare programs to "secure benefits in elections"
