Telangana in-charge of the BJP Tarun Chugh today slammed the ruling party, the TRS, for allegedly "polluting the purity" of the land of Nagarjuna Sagar with its "underhanded" campaigning tactics.
Speaking to the media, he alleged that the TRS was promoting the use of alcohol in the constituency just to win the upcoming by-election in the region. He also accused the pink party of luring the voters of the constituency by offering money to them.
"Though it has failed to bring development to Nagarjuna Sagar as its leaders were too busy pursuing personal gains, the TRS is now attempting to buy votes by doling out money and liquor in the constituency. The TRS' rule has been characterised by corruption, atrocities, and false promises made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Take the Buddhavanam project promised to Nagarjuna Sagar - it is a promise that has remained unfulfilled for a long while now. The problems of the tribals who own podu lands also remain unresolved. The TRS must be deafened," Chugh fumed.
After lambasting KCR, the BJP leader then attacked the MIM for allegedly holding raves in the Old City, and also demanded that the state government immediately reveal the names of the four TRS MLAs involved in
a drug use case.
Commenting on Y S Sharmila's decision to launch a political party in Telangana, he said that anybody could form a political party in a democracy but not every party lasted.
Chugh has been in Nagarjuna Sagar for the past few days as he is reportedly guiding the party cadres on how to carry out the campaign for the seat.
