The rains which have been lashing the city for the last one week once again sent normal life out of gear this afternoon.
In areas including Uppal, Tilaknagar, L B Nagar, Bahadurpura, Bandlaguda, Nadergul, Karmanghat and others, vast stretches of roads got submerged in rain water and several low-lying areas witnessed inundation.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) monsoon teams, which have been on alert since the heavy rains started off last week, swung into action and took up works to clear the stagnation and inundations.
GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy visited some areas including Bahadurpura, the Nehru zoo park and Ramnaspura. The Commissioner, after visiting the Nehru zoo Park, said that the encroachments of nalas would be cleared.
