Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today responded on Pravallika's suicide.
In a tweet, Gandhi censured the State government for the death of the girl, and termed it as a murder committed by the BRS government.
He said that Telangana was reeling under unemployment, and that the BRS and the BJP had together destroyed the State. He told the job seekers that they should however not lose courage as the Congress was going to form the next government and that two lakh government jobs would be filled within a year after that. He said that the TSPSC would be reconstituted within a month of the party assuming office, and that the calendar of recruitment for government jobs would be released soon after that.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed his condolences. Kharge said, "The suicide of a 23-year-old student in Telangana is shocking and deeply saddening. My condolences to her family. It is due to repeated postponements and irregularities in the State Public Service Commission exams that the girl ended her precious life. Thousands of young aspirants in Telangana are frustrated and angry due to the indifference of the BRS government in conducting the exams. The youth of Telangana should remove the corrupt and inefficient BRS from the throne."
MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also said that the suicide of the girl was very painful, and that it was a murder by the State government. "The girl committed suicide due to the postponement of the group exams twice. The Telangana movement was carried out with the slogan of water, funds and appointments, but none of them has happened. I bow to the students and the unemployed with folded hands. You have to be brave. The Congress government that gave Telangana is going to come to power. We will set up skill development colleges and try to provide employment to the unemployed," he said.
