It's Congress party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's turn now to be put under the radar in the Wikileaks exposure for his alleged remarks on Hindu terrorism.
In one of the 4,000 leaked U S diplomatic cables sent from New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi is quoted to have said to U S Ambassador Timothy Roemer - "The bigger threat (to India) may be the growth of radicalized Hindu groups which create religious tensions and political confrontations with the Muslim community".
Gandhi's observation came as a reply to Roemer's enquiry about Lashkar-e-Taiba's activities in the region, and its threat to India.
The candid conversation took place in 2009, when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was hosting a dinner in honour of visiting Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton.
The cables quote Gandhi as saying that there was evidence of some support for the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba among certain elements in India's indigenous Muslim community, but the risk of a "home-grown" extremist front demanded constant attention.
