Rahugrasta Choodamani Surya Grahana Japa Yagnam At Tirumala
To promote global peace and good health, the TTD organized a Rahugrasta Choodamani Surya Grahana Japa Yagnam in the Swami Pushkarini at Tirumala today.

To promote global peace and seeking good health for the whole of humanity, the TTD organized a Rahugrasta Choodamani Surya Grahana Japa Yagnam in the Swami Pushkarini at Tirumala on Sunday.
A partial solar eclipse was observed between 10:18 am and 1:38 pm today. During this time the unique japa yagnam was carried out with devotion in the temple tank.
Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, Additional EO A V Dharma Reddy, Veda Vignana Peetham Principal K S S Avadhani, the archakas of the Srivari temple, Jeeyangars, Veda Parayanadars and TTD senior officials participated.
As the grahanam lasted over three and a half hours, the sacred program was divided into six parts.
First, the Jeeyangars, their staff and the Srivari temple archakas chanted the ashtakshari mantra "Om Namo Narayanaya" and the dwadasakshari mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" between 10:18 am and 11 am.
Next, the Veda Parayanmdars of the Srivari temple recited the Sri Purusha Suktam between 11 am and 11:30 am.
From 11:30 am to 12 noon, the Veda pundits of the Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham presented the Sri Sukta Parayanam.
Fourth, the Veda Parayanamdars recited the Sri Narayana Suktam between 12 noon and 12:30 pm. Fifth was the same people doing the Sri Dhanvanthri Mantra Japam between 12:30 pm and 1 pm.
Finally, between 1 pm and 1:38 pm the Veda parayanadars chanted the Dasa Shanti Mantra.

Speaking to the media, TTD Agama advisor Mohana Rangacharyulu said that the Choodamani Surya Grahanam was quite auspicious as it had occurred on a Sunday. Chanting divine namams on this day would yield prosperity to the whole of humanity, he added.
