Shanti Homam In Tirumala To Ward Off Ill-Effects
A purificatory ritual was conducted in the Yagashala of Tirumala Temple to ward off ill effects and restore the sanctity of Laddu Prasadams.

A purificatory ritual named Shanti Homam was conducted this morning in the Yagashala of the Tirumala temple according to the tenets of Vaikhanasa Agama.
As part of the event, Vastu Suddhi and Kumbhajala Samprokshana were also performed by the ritwiks.
The ceremony aimed to ward off ill-effects and restore the sanctity of the laddu prasadams and other naivedyams, as also ensure the well-being of Srivari's devotees.
After the completion of the sacred event, TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao and Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdhary told the media that the holy ritual was a ceremony to cleanse sin.
Later, one of the chief priests of the temple, Venugopala Deekshitulu, along with Agama Advisor Mohanarangacharyulu, provided an overview of the series of religious rituals performed.
They said that Sankalpam, Vishwaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam, Vastu Homam, Kumbha Pratista and Panchagavya Aradhana were conducted in the Yagashala from 6 am to 10 am. Following the purnahuti, a Kumbha Prokshana was performed, and Visesha Naivedyam was offered. As a result, the laddu prasadams and naivedyams were now free from doshas, and devotees could now set aside any doubts regarding their quality, they said.
Srivari devotees have been encouraged to recite Kshama Mantras while performing Deeparadhana in their homes at 6 pm in the evening, and to chant Om Namo Narayanaya, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya and Om Namo Venkatesaya.
Among those present during the rituals were JEO Veerabrahmam, Temple Deputy EO Lokanatham, Pradhana Archakas Govindaraja Deekshitulu and Krishnaseshachala Deekshitulu, Agama Advisor Ramakrishna Deekshitulu, Veda Parayanamdars, ritwiks and others.
