Senior TDP leader K Yerram Naidu alleged that the on-going second phase of the Rachabanda program has been started by the state government to benefit the Congress workers across the state.
Talking to reporters at the NTR Trust Bhavan here on Sunday, Naidu said that the entire program has been designed to personally benefit Congress leaders and workers.
He said that the program was not aimed at solving the people's problems, and was actually a platform for the Congress leaders to strengthen their political bases.
Referring to the Sadasivpet incident wherein Congress MLA Jagga Reddy
slapped a man, Naidu said that the ruling party leaders were not open to criticism from the common man.
He said that the Congress MLA slapped a man just for questioning the supply of rotten rice in the Rs. 1-a-kg rice scheme. Manhandling someone for asking a question was a clear violation of democratic norms, he added.
The TDP leader criticised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Home Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy for remaining silent on the issue.
He noted that no Congress leader in the state reacted to this act and no action has been taken against the MLA.
If the same trend continues, then how would the people trust the government and the administration, he asked. (INN)
