Tollywood comedian Balireddy Pruthviraj alias Seshu has been ordered by a family court to pay Rs 8 lakhs per month as alimony to his estranged wife Srilakshmi.
The court pronounced the orders on Thursday after hearing the case filed by Srilakshmi.
The actor never attended the court during the hearings that took place since January this year when the case was filed at a police station under Section 498A for domestic violence.
Srilakshmi told the court that Pruthvi had married her in 1984, and that the couple had two grown-up children. The family stayed in Vijayawada until they shifted to Hyderabad after the actor got a break in the film industry and started getting major roles a few years back.
Pruthvi is currently in high demand in the Telugu film industry, especially after his "30-years-industry" dialogue clicked in the film
Khadgam.
Srilakshmi alleged that her husband had neglected her and caused her mental agony, and that she could no longer live with him. After submitting her husband's income details to the court, Srilakshmi sought an alimony of Rs 10 lakhs per month. However, the court eventually sanctioned Rs 8 lakhs per month.
