Qatar To Host SIIMA 2019 From August 15, 2019

The eighth edition of the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA 2019) will be held from August 15, 2019.

The 2-day event will conclude on August 16, 2019.

The capital city of Qatar, Doha, will host the event.

Fashion retail chain Pantaloons has been roped in for the second time in as the title sponsor.

Celebrities from the south are currently gearing up for the awards which reward the artistic and technical achievements of the south-Indian film industry. Actress Shriya Saran, Vishnu Vardhan Induri (MD, Vibri Media) and Ryan Fernandes (Head of Marketing, Pantaloons) were present along with Shanvi Srivastava, Ashima Narwal, Nidhhi Agerwal, Manvitha Kamath, Ruhani Sharma, Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna, Allu Aravind and Madhura Sridhar at the curtain-raiser for the event in Hotel The Westin, Mindspace, Madhapur, Hyderabad.

Induri said that awards for short films were being introduced this year. "The short film awards are an initiative by SIIMA to recognize the talent of young filmmakers who are expected to change the dynamics of filmmaking with their fresh thoughts and techniques," he said.
