After the Ramagundam police issued notices to Manthani Municipal Chairperson Putta Shailaja, wife of former Manthani MLA and Peddapalli ZP Chairman Putta Madhukar, for her alleged links to the grisly
murder of advocate couple Gattu Vaman Rao and P V Nagamani, that took place in February this year, she appeared before the Ramagundam Commissionerate police today.
The notice was served after Vaman Rao's father, Kishan Rao, had lodged a complaint against Madhukar and his wife on May 16. In the complaint, he had said that Madhukar and Shailaja had played a role in the murder of his son and daughter-in-law.
TPCC head N Uttam Kumar Reddy too had hinted at the
duo's involvement in the killings.
Meanwhile, the police have also issued notices to the managements of 12 banks where Madhukar and his family members have bank accounts.
The bank officials have been asked to hand over the details of the accounts of Madhukar, Shailaja, their son, daughter, and daughter-in-law. Further, the police have also asked for the bank details of the main accused in the case, who were arrested some months ago, including Putta Satish, Raichur Srinivas, Kunta Srinu and Bittu Srinivas. Any transactions of above Rs 2 lakh need to be reported.
While Shailaja appeared before the Ramadungam police today, the ZP Chairman has been
arrested and is being questioned by the police after he was apprehended in Bhimavaram, in Andhra Pradesh, and then brought to Ramagundam on Saturday for the legal proceedings pertaining to the advocate murder case.
