Puri Jagannath's Father No More

The director's father died after a prolonged fight with cancer.

Well-known Telugu film director Puri Jagannath's father, Simhachalam, died after a prolonged fight with cancer at the Apollo Hospital in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

Mr. Simhachalam was 69. Puri Jagannath was at his father's side during his final moments.

Puri had flown in from Bangkok 3 days earlier, after coming to know that his father's health had deteriorated.

Mr. Simhachalam is survived by 3 sons, the film director being the eldest. His other two sons are Ganesh and Sai Ram Shankar.

His funeral will be held at Narsipatnam in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
