Speaking at the well-attended Party plenary in Khammam, the CM said that the Party workers needed to usher in a new era of development and welfare.
TRS boss and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today gave a clarion call to his Party leaders and workers to perform and win the hearts of the people as the Party had got a mandate explicitly to serve the people in a speedy manner.
Speaking at the well-attended Party plenary in Khammam, the Chief Minister said that they needed to usher in a new era of development and welfare, and develop Telangana into a dazzling State.
He claimed that they were already on the way there, as in India it was only Telangana which was spending a whopping Rs 35,000 crores on welfare, which spoke volumes of the TRS' priorities. Impressed by the focus on welfare and the speedy growth in all sectors, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the State, KCR stated.
He also claimed that the State had achieved Rs 30,000 crores in investments from various noted companies of global and domestic stature, and would also become numero uno in the IT sector soon.
The CM said that the State had achieved two of its three targets - have its own funds to spend, and jobs for Telangana people - and needed to achieve only the third one of irrigation waters, which he alleged was witnessing hurdles created by his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu. Irrigation projects would be completed on a war footing to address the drought problem, he promised.
The Chief Minister stressed on the yet-paramount need for rooting out poverty by focusing on the problems being faced by various disadvantaged sections of the people, including weavers, fishermen, Yadavs and toddy tappers. "We need to show an alternative to those in difficulties, by offering employment," he said.
As part of the welfare of the poor, various schemes were being rolled out, and as part of that 250 Gurukul schools and colleges would be launched this academic year as part of the KG-to-PG scheme, he claimed. The government would also build 2 lakh double bedroom houses for the poor this financial year, he said, and reiterated that he would keep his promise of providing housing facility to journalists in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the districts.
He also swore that the TRS would not ask for votes in the 2019 general elections, as he promised earlier, if his regime failed to keep up its promise of providing drinking water to every household.
Unfazed by all the hurdles, the TRS, with a massive mandate and a complete understanding of the problems in the State, was working to transform the State into a golden Telangana, he stated.
