The state government appears to be facing an acute shortage of efficient officers for deployment in various posts in the Minorities Welfare Department.
Apparently due to the shortage of efficient officers, the state government has assigned five major responsibilities to a single officer, Prof. S A Shukoor. Shukoor is currently handling the responsibilities of Professor and Head of the Urdu Department in Nizam College, Director of the Centre For Educational Development of Minorities, Secretary and Director of the AP State Urdu Academy, General Secretary of Idara-e-Adabiyat-e-Urdu, and Special Officer of Haj Camp 2013.
While Prof. Shukoor is known for his integrity and efficiency, the state government is increasingly burdening him by adding more responsibilities. According to sources, the one-man-one-post concept was indirectly affecting the functioning of these departments, as all of them need a full time in-charge. (INN)
