All India Congress Committee Secretary (AICC) and MLC, Ponguleti Sudhakar, on Tuesday lashed out at Telangana Telugu Desam Party Forum (TTDPF) Convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy for his reported remarks that the people of Telangana will perform the 'last rites of the Congress' if its leaders fail to achieve a separate Telangana state.
Sudhakar Reddy demanded that Janardhan Reddy immediately withdraw the condemnable remarks.
The senior Congress leader told mediapersons at the Assembly media-point that such kind of remarks, coming from a senior leader like Janardhan Reddy, were not befitting his position.
Sudhakar Reddy further opined that Janardhan Reddy has no moral right to talk against Congress leaders because the TDP leader was unable to introduce a resolution over the students suicides for the cause of Telangana, at his party's annual meet 'Mahanadu'.
Asking the TDP MLA to stop his malicious campaign against Congress representatives, Sudhakar Reddy said that Janardhan Reddy will be better off concentrating on saving his image within his own party and the TTDPF.
The senior Congress leader recalled that Janardhan Reddy has been accused of taking unilateral decisions, and has been rejected by the other members of the forum for his adamant and unilateral stance on Telangana.
The AICC secretary further stated that the Telugu Desam Party has adopted 'double-standards' on the Telangana issue, and added that the people of the state are not in a position to believe the TDP.
Sudhakar Reddy demanded that the TDP MLA resign from the post of 'Chairman of Public Accounts Committee' since he has failed to carry-out his responsibilities.
"Janardhan Reddy has not submitted a single report after assuming charge of the implementation of government developmental schemes and projects," the Congress leader pointed out.
He also said that the Congress will decide on the demands to introduce a Telangana bill in Parliament after the elections to Assemblies of 5 states in May.
