Ponguleti Makes Surprise Visit To Government Office, Slams Staff

Minister for Revenue and I&PR Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy today paid a surprise visit to the revenue department's office in the Secretariat.

During the inspection, the minister expressed anger at many employees not coming to the office till 11:40 am.

He said that it was irresponsible not to be in office on time, and directed the officials to take stringent action against those who were away from duties without any prior information.

Ponguleti also examined the attendance register book in five sections of the revenue department and noticed that full attendance of the employees was not there in any section of the office.

He expressed dissatisfaction at the attitude of employees showing negligence in attending to their duties, and ordered appropriate penal action.

"Government officers and staff should be punctual and honest in their duties. They should work with commitment and bring a good name to the State government," Ponguleti said.
