The Hyderabad police didn't allow Sri Peetham chief Swami Paripoornananda to take up his "Dharmagraha Yatra" demanding that the state government initiate severe action against Kathi Mahesh for his remarks against Lord Rama.
The cops reached Paripoornananda's residence in Jubilee Hills early in the morning and didn't allow him to come out, effectively placing him under house arrest, saying that he did not have permission for the rally. Knowing about that, the disciples of Paripoornananda reached his residence in large numbers.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists too staged a dharna protesting the house arrest of the seer. They raised slogans against the state government, leading to the arrests of several of them by the police.
Paripoornananda had proposed to take up his yatra from the Boduppal Ramalayam to Yadadri, from July 9 to 11.
