Police Prevent Sharmila's "Chalo Osmania Hospital" Program

Hyderabad | 28th March 2023
The Hyderabad police today prevented YSRTP founder-president Y S Sharmila from conducting her "Chalo Osmania Hospital" program.

The police reached the residence of Sharmila in Lotus Pond well before she could leave, and did not allow her to come out of her home.

Activists of the YSRTP entered into heated arguments with the police and raised slogans against them. The altercation between the activists and the police led to a minor stampede. Sharmila fell on the ground during the stampede.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Sharmila alleged that the city police was falsely labelling her program as an issue of law and order to prevent her from holding it.

She also came down heavily against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that it was the CM who had instructed the police to stop her padayatra, and that he was acting like a dictator.

She also alleged that the Osmania General Hospital did not have any basic amenities for patients, and that the CM had failed to fulfill his nine-year-old promise to modernise the hospital by spending Rs 200 crore.

She also said that she had received complaints that people were not getting any decent healthcare services at the hospital, and that she had given a call for the Chalo Osmania Hospital march to find out the problems being faced by the people at the hospital.
