The Telangana High Court today directed the police to immediately remove all barricades from the residence of the the YSR Telangana Party founder-president.
The Telangana High Court today directed the city police to immediately remove all barricades from the residence of the YSR Telangana Party founder-president Y S Sharmila.
It asked the police why it was deploying a force in front of her residence.
The court was dealing with a petition filed by Sharmila. The counsel for Sharmila told the HC that the police had stopped Sharmila from attending a court hearing on Tuesday, and that the police were stopping her every day and not allowing her to come out of her residence despite the orders of the court.
Responding to the arguments of the counsel for Sharmila, the State government's prosecutor told the HC that the police were facing a law and order problem due to Sharmila in the city.
He also told the HC that Sharmila had violated the bail conditions imposed on her, and cited the developments that took place at the B R Ambedkar statue and the S R Nagar police station.
The prosecutor also told the HC that Sharmila was providing wrong information to the police about her day-to-day programs.
Following this, the HC asked Sharmila to not hold any public meeting without informing the police about it.
