Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Tarakarama Rao on Monday announced that he would commit suicide in full public view if someone proves that his party or leaders had benefited from the Polavaram project tenders.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly Media Point, the Sircilla MLA challenged Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu to prove the allegations that he levelled against the TRS leaders on the floor of the House during the discussions on the No Confidence Motion.
He expressed his readiness for "any enquiry" into the issue.
"If the enquiry report indicts TRS, I will hang myself to death," he said.
He added that Naidu must quit politics and disband his party if the TRS gets a clean chit in the enquiry.
He said that people would teach Naidu a fitting lesson if he does not stop levelling such baseless allegations against the TRS.
Meanwhile, Chennur TRS MLA Nallala Odelu stated that the TDP chief has intentionally targeted the TRS in the Assembly despite knowing well that the TRS would vote in favour of the No Confidence Motion. He alleged that Naidu wanted to divert the attention of the House and save the government from the No Confidence Motion. (INN)
