A special CBI court on Friday issued fresh summons to Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and former minister and YSRCP MLA Dharmana Prasada Rao in a case relating to Penna Cements.
Summons have also been served on senior IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, former IAS officers M Samuel and V D Rajagopal, DRO Sudarshan Reddy and Tahsildar Yellamma.
The court asked them to appear before it on January 17.
The politicians and current and former bureaucrats are facing charges of corruption in the case.
The court issued the summons after admitting a supplementary charge-sheet filed by the CBI in the case. Although the charge-sheet was filed two years ago, the High Court had stayed the proceedings in the case. However, the stay was vacated recently, prompting the CBI court to begin the hearing in the case.
The case was related to the alleged committing of grave irregularities in the allotment of lands in Anantapur district and mines in other areas to Penna Cement in united Andhra Pradesh.
