Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Tirupurana Venkataratnam on Monday condemned Sakshi TV's airing of the program against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi for the second time (on Monday).
The channel had earlier telecast the program and asked the viewers to judge for themselves if the points it raised against the Congress party were really as detrimental as alleged by the Congress.
Talking to media persons on the Assembly premises, Venkataratnam said the program was an attempt to spoil the image of the party across the country. She questioned the need for airing such a program on the channel the second time.
Venkataratnam hazarded a guess that the edited version of program was intentionally aired to provoke Congress leaders and in order to get mileage in the name of journalism.
"It is shameful to air such programs degrading the Congress party, which has celebrated the 125th anniversary of its glorious history," she said.
Venkataratnam stated that the program has disturbed the emotions and sentiments of thousands of people attached to the Congress.
She warned the management of the channel of serious consequences if it repeats such programs.
