Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President D Srinivas on Friday suspended 13 party workers from the East Godavari district due to dissension among party candidates during the recent Legislative Council elections.

In a press statement, the PCC stated that the suspension orders were issued against the members after it was confirmed that they had worked against the interests of the officially announced candidates in the elections.

The suspended members include former MLA Kudipudi Chittabai, former minister Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao, Jakkampudi Vijaya Lakshmi, Mudragada Padmanabham, Tota Gopalakrishna, Bucchi Maheswara Rao, former MLA Varapula Subba Rao, Chirla Jagga Reddy, District Mahila Congress Wing President Kolli Nirmalakumari, District Libraries Association Chairman Byeraju Padmaraju, DCMN President Reddy Prasad, PCC Joint Secretary Reddy Radha Krishna and PCC member Katika Reddy Raju.
