The details of Andhra Pradesh's investment proposals received at the Partnership Summit are revealed.
The state government, on Monday, denied allegations, by Peddapalli MP G Vivek, that investment proposals received for the Telangana region during the Partnership Summit were diverted to the Seemandhra region with the connivance of the Chief Minister.
In a joint press conference held at the State Secretariat, Major Industries Minister Dr. J Geetha Reddy and Information Technology Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah denied all the charges.
They said that no injustice has been done to any region, and that the industrialists had utilized the opportunity to invest, as per their priorities, during the 2012 Partnership Summit.
Praising the Partnership Summit as a "big success", the ministers said that the state had got a good response from both national and international entrepreneurs.
They said that 41 proposals were submitted to establish industries in the Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak and Mahbubnagar districts.
The state has received as many as 118 investment proposals to set up industries worth Rs. 2,94,924 crore, and they will are anticipated to create 4.61 lakh jobs, the ministers said.
Further, the energy sector received 89 proposals, with an investment value of Rs. 2,95,508 crore. These proposals are to create 57,075 jobs.
In the information technology sector, the state received 13 proposals worth Rs. 22,400 crore, which is estimated to create 1.40 lakh jobs.
In the infrastructure sector, the government received 11 proposals worth Rs. 33,300 crore, with a job creation capacity of 16,750.
The tourism and hospitality sector got 12 proposals, with an investment worth Rs. 1,700 crores, with an employment potential of 13,250.
However, the ministers did not reveal the regional distribution of the investment proposals received. (INN)
