Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Telangana Rising 2047 Global Summit, scheduled to be held at Bharat Future City on December 8 and 9.
Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Telangana MPs, the Chief Minister met the Prime Minister in Parliament and extended the invitation for the summit.
He also presented the Global Summit logo to Modi.
During the meeting, Reddy briefed the PM on the main objective of the summit - to attract global investments and showcase the State's vision for strengthening every sector of the economy.
The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that the State government had set a target of achieving a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047, in line with the Union government's Viksit Bharat 2047 goals.
"The Telangana Rising 2047 vision document has been prepared to analyse growth goals and future plans across all sectors," Reddy said, and added that the document - set to be unveiled at the summit - was prepared in consultation with NITI Aayog and sectoral experts.
Appealing to the Prime Minister to extend adequate support for the development works planned under the Telangana Rising vision, Reddy requested approval for all pending projects.
He drew Modi's attention to the pending approval of the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. The State government had already submitted proposals for expanding the network to a total length of 162.5 km, and that the PM should approve the project - estimated to cost Rs 43,848 crore - as a joint venture between the Centre and the State, the CM said.
Reddy also sought approval for the northern part of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road and financial clearance for the construction of the southern part. The proposed Regional Ring Rail project along the Ring Road was also discussed.
The Centre's support for constructing a 12-lane Greenfield Expressway from Hyderabad to Bandar Port via Amaravathi, and another Greenfield Expressway to develop the Hyderabad-Bengaluru High-Speed Corridor, was also mentioned in the memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister.
Proposals for a four-lane elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam via the Tiger Reserve - aimed at ensuring seamless connectivity to the Srisailam shrine - were also among the key demands.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister also called on Union Ministers in Parliament and invited them to participate in the summit. Along with the Deputy Chief Minister and MPs, Reddy met Union IT and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and invited them to attend the summit.
