The Andhra Pradesh government's media advisor Parakala Prabhakar tendered his resignation today.
He sent his resignation letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu urging the latter to accept it immediately.

For a while now, rumours have been doing the rounds that the relations between Prabhakar and Naidu have been strained for the last few months. However, Prabhakar mentioned in his letter that he was resigning due to criticism from the opposition parties. He wrote that he was leaving as a vilification campaign was going on against him that since his family member was in another political party having different political views (his wife Nirmala Sitharaman is India's defence minister and a top BJP leader), he could compromise the state's interests.
