Narayana Group of Educational Institutions chairman P Narayana is likely to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources, Narayana will be among the two Deputy CMs of Andhra Pradesh.
He represents the Kapu community, and is believed to be a close associate of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu. He played a crucial role in the Party's victory in North Andhra in the recent elections.
He is likely to be made a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council within 6 months under the Governor's quota, sources added.
During the election campaign, Naidu had promised to have two Deputy CMs, with one belonging to the Dalit community and another to the Kapu community.
While Narayana is the top contender from the Kapu community, there is no clarity on who will be picked from the Dalit community for the other post of a Deputy CM. (INN)
