The mobile app has brought all these private ambulances onto its platform to connect them to the people in need in real time.
The 500+ private ambulances that exist in the twin cities have been integrated with CallAmbulance, an emergency response mobile app.
Jagadish, COO of CallAmbulance, informed that these ambulances were not connected to 108 or any other hospital, and operated on their own, meaning that consumers needed to reach out to them individually to avail themselves of their services. Due to the lack of knowledge of their availability and geographical location, consumers/patients were not able to use these existing ambulances.
CallAmbulance had now integrated all these private ambulances onto its platform to connect them to the people in need in real time. By displaying their current availability status and exact location, the app would make it easy for the consumers to find the nearest ambulances, and know their rate cards and the type of ambulance (Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Transportation Ambulance etc.), and book one according to their requirements, Jagadish said.
Suresh, Gandhi Hospital Ambulance Owners Association President, said, "Earlier we had great difficulty in communicating our location. Now with the new CallAmbulance app everything is streamlined. We can now make more than one trip per day and service many more needful patients."
Consumers can book these private ambulances for other transportation needs, too. For example elderly people who are on dialysis to manage their kidney-related ailments need to visit dialysis centers, and patients after a knee replacement surgery need to go back home from the hospital, and for such people, too, the app will be of help.
Private ambulance drivers can request to join the CallAmbulance platform by sending a WhatsApp message to 810-617-3902.
