The TRS leadership today claimed that the opposition was rattled by the TRS survey that stated that the party would retain power with a thumping majority of 111 seats of the 119 in the state, while the BJP would not get a single seat, the Congress would get about 2 seats and MIM would get six seats.
Addressing the media at the TRS Legislature Party office on Sunday, TRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said that the survey was conducted by the TRS to find out whom the people would give the mandate to in the 2019 elections, and get feedback over the three-year rule of the TRS government. The survey results disclosed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao made it clear that the people were with the ruling party for implementing many welfare schemes and addressing the issues of the people, he claimed.
He ridiculed the Congress, BJP and Telugu Desam Party for challenging the results, and said that they were scared and in utter confusion, and indulging in rhetoric against the TRS as a result.
Reddy also pointed out that the TRS had won every election conducted in the state from the municipality to the Assembly level. "The previous surveys have proved true and the people are with us," he said.
The TRS government was committed to agriculture development and was taking steps to prevent suicides by farmers in the state, he said. "Recently we announced Rs 4,000 per acre for fertilizers for two crops which will help the farmers get rid of their debt problems in the future. And Telangana is the only state in India to build such a large number of irrigation projects in just three years," he said.
To a query, he said that the government had not taken any decision on the shifting of Dharna Chowk, and that the opposition parties were deliberately blaming the ruling party for a shift that had not even happened.
