Multiple surveys conducted in the run-up to the Telangana Assembly elections have predicted a victory for the ruling TRS.
The latest survey conducted by the Centre for Psychology Studies has predicted that the TRS will win as many as 90 to 104 seats in the 119-member Assembly, while the Congress-led Praja Kutami will be confined to 16 to 21 seats.
It also estimated that the BJP, despite campaigns by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other union ministers, will most likely secure only one or two seats.
The survey said that the TRS had 49.7% of the vote share, the Praja Kutami had 32.3%, and the BJP had 9.1%. It also said that 50.8% of men and 48.20% of women were in favour of the TRS, while 31.2% of men and 31.4% of women were in favour of the Praja Kutami.
Another survey conducted by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) also revealed that a majority of the people were in favour of the TRS. According to the survey, 62% of the people surveyed said that they were fully satisfied with KCR's rule, and that they would vote on the basis of the CM's performance and not on the basis of the candidate for their constituency.
A third survey by India Today Political Stock Exchange also predicted that the TRS would once again emerge as the winner in the elections as more than 50% of the people were in favour of the party.
Another survey conducted jointly by Namasthe Telangana and T-News said that the TRS was likely to bag 98 to 108 seats, the MIM 7 and the Praja Kutami 2 to 8. The survey, conducted by taking the views of 1,11,525 persons across the state, said that the people were highly appreciative of the welfare schemes implemented by the TRS government.
However, Lagadapati Rajagopal released a survey today showing the Praja Kutami leading the race.
