Governor Sanctions Rs. 6 Lakhs To Police Firing Victims
AP Governor E S L Narasimhan sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs. 6 lakh to the victims of the police firing in Rajendranagar in Hyderabad's Old City yesterday.

Governor E S L Narasimhan on Thursday held a meeting with the Chief Secretary, DGP, Home Secretary and other senior police officers, and reviewed the incident that led to opening of fire in the Kishanbagh area of Rajendranagar. The Advisor to the Governor was also present.
During the meeting, the Governor ordered a magisterial enquiry into the events leading to opening of fire, with immediate effect. He also sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs. 6 lakh to the next of kin of those who had lost their lives in the police firing. An ex-gratia of Rs. 50,000 was also sanctioned for those grievously injured.
The injured will be provided the best available medical treatment, free of cost, in any corporate hospital through the Arogyasri scheme. Compensation will also be provided towards loss of property, to the effected as per the norms, according to a press communique from Raj Bhavan.
The Governor has appealed to all sections to maintain peace and help bring back normalcy at the earliest. (INN)
