No Bail For Kodandaram

A local court rejected the bail petitions of Prof M Kodandaram, Eetela Rajender, Jupally Krishna Rao and others who were arrested during sadak bandh yesterday.
Alampur Junior Civil Judicial Court has ruled that the leaders responsible for the sadak bandh were booked under Sections 147, 148, 341, 188, 427, 109 R/w 149 along with PDPP Act.
Cases were registered against 11 persons, of which 3 are absconding. As the investigation is still in progress and 3 persons are absconding, it is not possible to grant bail, the court ruled.
Meanwhile, organizations including TPJAC, Students Union JAC and other JACs have condemned the arrest of the leaders, and have called for a bandh on 24 March in protest against the arrests. They appealed to all the people's representatives, traders, and others, to cooperate and make the bandh a success. (INN)
