Students Protest Against Contaminated Hostel Food

In yet another case of the neglect faced by hostel dwellers, students living in the hostel of Nizam College, Basheerbagh, found the food to be contaminated, and have taken to protesting outside the building with cooking vessels full of the allegedly adulterated rice they were being fed.

The students, several of whom had been suffering from stomachache and other health problems for a while now, had complained to the hostel warden, but were met only with placations, and later, rebuffs. When they personally examined the unpalatable rice, they reportedly found that it contained cooking soda, which, in large quatities, can have several side-effects on the health.
