M A Shakeer Khan, Junior Assistant and In-charge Revenue Inspector at the Nirmal Town Municipal Office, was caught red-handed today by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a complainant to do an official favour - specifically, to obtain regularization orders for the complainant from the office of the Regional Director, Municipal Administration, Warangal.
The tainted money was recovered from Khan, who was subsequently arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Karimnagar.
ACB officials have requested that in cases of bribe demands made by any public servant, the public should call the ACB toll-free number 1064.
