Manakonduru TRS MLA Rasamayi Balakishan, who was reappointed to the post of Telangana Samskruthika Sarathi (Department of Language and Culture) Chairman for another three-year term on July 13, was sworn into office today.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at a government art gallery in Hyderabad's Madhapur area.
On the occasion, the legislator took the oath of office and secrecy in the presence of various high level government officials.
After the program, Balakishan vowed to serve the people of the state as per the vision and directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Tourism and Culture Minister V Srinivas Goud, Telangana State Planning Commission Deputy Chairman former MP Boinapally Vinod Kumar, and MLC Goreti Venkanna, who also attended the ceremony, extended their wishes to the MLA.
After he was reappointed to the post last week, Balakishan had met the CM at Pragathi Bhavan and had thanked him for the post.
KCR had responded by congratulating the leader and handing over to him the letter of appointment.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM had highlighted the crucial role that cultural artistes had played in the Telangana statehood movement and explained that the Samskruthika Sarathi had been formed to safeguard the interests of the artisans who had participated in the movement.
