At least 10 people were buried under the rubble of a building that collapsed in Narayanguda on Friday afternoon at 2:30pm. While students of the school are safe, the tragedy has taken the lives of labourers.
3 labourers, who were taken to Gandhi hospital, breathed their last. Students, policemen, fire services staff and the staff of 108 are all involved in the rescue operations.
The building, located beside Brilliant Grammar school, was old and 2 floors have been under construction for the past 3 years now. 15 coolies were working at the time of the accident.
Commissioner A K Khan and Mayor Kartika Reddy are among those who rushed to the accident site. Khan said a criminal case will be slapped on those responsible.
Ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs has been announced for the families of the deceased, while those injured get Rs. 50,000 or Rs. 1,00,000 depending on the extent of injury.
