Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday, raised objections to YSR Congress leaders politicizing the telephone calls made by reporters to the CBI's joint director V V Lakshminarayana.
Talking to media persons on his way to Lakshmipet in Srikakulam, where 5 Dalits were killed in a land dispute, Naidu said that politicising telephone calls made by the media to Lakshminarayana was highly objectionable and improper.
He said that it was the duty of reporters to talk to the CBI chief and other investigation officials in order to gather information.
He alleged that the Jagan group was trying to malign everyone possible, out of desperation and frustration.
Naidu also dismissed allegations made by Kola Krishna Mohan that he has several bank accounts abroad, and that he has stashed away thousands of crores of rupees.
Later, the TDP chief visited the family members of Papaiah (at Rajam in Srikakulam district), one of the victims killed in the Lakshmipet violence, and consoled their family members.
Naidu blamed the state government's apathy for the massacre of the 5 Dalits. He demanded that the government order a judicial inquiry into the incident and help the families of the victims.
He said that the government ordering a CID probe into the incident was eyewash, and demanded the arrest of former mandal president Botsa vasudeva Naidu, who is alleged to be behind the murders.
Naidu demanded that the government pay ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lakh to the next to kin of the victims' family members, and sanction 3 acres of land as part of the compensation.
Naidu said that his party would raise the issue in the Assembly and seek justice for the victims. (INN)
