BJP senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy has tendered his resignation to the party and faxed the resignation letter to the party's national president Amit Shah today.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy alleged that the BJP leaders had failed to wage a movement against the TRS government. He said that the BJP leaders were not raising public issues in the Assembly, and that he had tendered his resignation following the wishes of his followers and activists.
Reddy had joined the BJP before the 2014 elections, and had lost the elections for the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat. He had been staying away from the BJP for the last few months, and had opened his own office at Basheerbagh.
Nagam said that he was in touch with the Telangana Congress leaders, and would join the party at any moment though some Congress leaders from the Mahabubnagar district were opposing his entry. The party high command had already given a green signal to the state party leaders, upon the initiative of TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and former union minister S Jaipal Reddy, to admit Reddy into the party.
