Feuding In Congress Over Nagam Janardhan Reddy Entry
The internecine differences in the Telangana Congress came to the fore today after erstwhile BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy joined the Congress yesterday.
The internecine differences in the Telangana Congress came to the fore today after erstwhile BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy joined the Congress yesterday in the presence of AICC chief Rahul Gandhi.
Senior Congress leader and MLC Damodar Reddy, who has been opposing Nagam's entry into the party right from the beginning, lashed out at TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy today.
Saying that Uttam Kumar Reddy had erred in the case of Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Damodar Reddy said the party would suffer from the intra-party differences caused due to Janardhan Reddy's entry.
"Nagam joined the Congress by misleading AICC chief Rahul Gandhi. The party is being affected by the unilateral decisions being taken by the TPCC. Both Jaipal Reddy and Chinna Reddy are trying to weaken the strong leaders in Nagarkurnool with their questionable acts," Damodar Reddy claimed.
Damodar Reddy also said that while Janardhan Reddy was spreading rumours that he had got an assurance from the party high command that he would be given a ticket, the TPCC chief and R C Khuntia were flatly denying having given any such assurance. He demanded that the PCC and Khuntia clarify on a ticket to Nagam.
Damodar Reddy said that he had been working for the sake of party for the last 20 years, and also against Nagam. He made it clear that he would not extend any cooperation if the party gave a ticket to Nagam.
