Telangana BJP Vice-President and former MLA N V S S Prabhakar today slammed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao over the delay in the completion of the Musi river beautification project.
Speaking at a rally organised by the party to demand the prompt completion of the beautification works, he alleged that the promises made by the CM regarding the same had turned out to be as transient as "writings on water".
Prabhakar then claimed that the Musi Riverfront Development Board had been turned into a political board by the KCR government. He also alleged that several board members were indulging in irregularities, and vowed that the BJP would raise its voice against such practices with the help of its city-based corporators.
The leader reiterated, "The beautification works have not progressed even a bit although it has been seven years since they commenced. The state government has not constructed a single sewage treatment plant, essential for the revitalisation of the waterbody, after making the grand promise of spending Rs 5,000 crore on the project."
Today's rally, which started at the Moosrambagh crossroads and ended at the Moosrambagh bridge, was attended by former BJP MLA Chintha Ramchandra Reddy, party central district president Gautam Rao, Rangareddy party chief Sama Ranga Reddy, and several other several leaders and corporators.
As part of this demonstration, the leaders observed the Musi riverfront area.
