Opposing the policies of the ruling TRS, BJP activists from the city today burned an effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at the Puranapul crossroads in Hyderabad.
A protest was also held under the leadership of T Uma Mahendra, who contested in the Charminar Assembly constituency election.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahendra said that KCR's behaviour towards guests was forcing the people of the State to hang their heads in shame.
He said that it was unfortunate that KCR did not welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport. He also alleged that the government had not made adequate arrangements for the BJP's national executive committee meetings despite the fact that it is being attended by the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States and union ministers.
He added that the TRS leaders had created unnecessary chaos in the city by inviting the Presidential candidate of the opposition parties Yashwant Sinha to the city on the same day that the Prime Minister was scheduled to land in the city.
He claimed that the people of the State were criticising the attitude of the Chief Minister, and that the TRS leaders were behaving so pig-headedly as they were scared of losing power in the State due to the programs being held by the BJP.
He said that no one however could stop the BJP from winning the State in the next elections.
