To raise public awareness about the alarming rise in air pollution in the national capital, Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna today arrived at Parliament riding an electric bike designed and built by him.
He said that public representatives needed to lead by example, and that through this symbolic act he intended to send a strong message highlighting the need to adopt eco-friendly modes of transport.
The MP said that vehicular emissions were a major contributor to Delhi's air pollution, and that the use of electric vehicles could significantly reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. He urged citizens to actively participate in environmental protection.
Krishna also said that by riding a self-made electric bike, he wanted to emphasise the importance of promoting indigenous technology, innovation, and the technical skills of the youth.
