Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav openly expressed ire against the Congress leadership for ignoring the party workers in the state.
Addressing the Pradesh Congress Committee meeting at L B Stadium here on Sunday, Anjan said that he was made a sacrificial lamb during the 2004 elections. After denying an Assembly ticket, he was nominated from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency and everyone was confident about his defeat. However, to the surprise of everyone, he said, he won the elections and also retained the seat in 2009 elections.
Stating that he said he had become an MP by chance, Anjan said the party never bothered to check how many Yadavs lives in the state and what they expect from the party. He said that there were 22 crore Yadavs in the country, and he was the only Yadav MP from the entire south. However, he expressed anger for being ignored for the post of Central minister.
Anjan also complained that leaders of Backward Classes were being ignored in the party and that was the reason why many BC leaders were joining other parties. He demanded that the government accommodate BCs and minorities on the nominated posts to give them justice.
The Secunderabad MP also demanded that the government introduce sub-plans for BCs and minorities along the lines of the SC/ST Sub-Plan.
Interestingly, Anjan Kumar Yadav delivered the entire speech in Hyderabadi Urdu while using couplets from Urdu poetry more than a dozen times. (INN)
