Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumanth Rao emphasised the importance of party workers to the upliftment and growth of the party, during the PCC general body meeting at L B Stadium on Sunday. After greeting all those present, Hanumanth Rao stressed on the fact that workers are as necessary to the healtha and the growth of the party as the ministers.
Adressing all the party workers present at the meeting, he said that it was as much upto them as to the ministers to ascertain the victory of Congress during the 2014 elections. The workers must ensure that all the schemes being taken up by the Congress are duly promoted to people, especially those who need it most, and to ensure that there are no instances of irregularity or corruption to dilute the effectiveness of these schemes.
He also implored to the Congress ministers to ensure that all party workers - who slog in the sun, work with people, get arrested, and carry out many other tasks essential to the party - be given due recognition, adding that he has been broaching the subject with the past three CMs with no result.
