Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today announced some sops for Telangana in the form of allocation of more houses for the poor and loans, as also a promise to look into the division of High Court between the two Telugu States.
The minister said that the Centre would give more houses to Telangana under the housing for the poor scheme, and offer loans for the purpose.
Talking to reporters in Delhi after holding a meeting with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on various issues, Naidu said that the Centre had agreed in principle to offer Rs 3,100 crores to the State.
"As KCR sought more houses for the State, we will offer them," he said. "And the Centre will take a final call on the High Court bifurcation after the two Chief Ministers hold a meeting with the Chief Justice of India and the legal department. I rang up the Union Law Secretary in the presence of KCR."
