Sanathnagar TDP MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav accused GHMC officials of adopting a negligent attitude towards providing basic civic amenities to the people living in the GHMC limits.
Speaking in the GHMC General Body Meeting on Saturday, Yadav said that despite allocation of nearly Rs 300 crores for the works under the SC/ST Sub-Plan, only Rs 10 crores had been sanctioned. Further, he said that the tenders that had been called for work were worth only Rs 3 crores.
He demanded that the GHMC furnish ward-wise information on the implementation of the schemes.
Talasani also slammed the GHMC officials for not furnishing information relating to the implementation of different projects in the city.
He also said that foreign aid worth Rs 800 crores had been returned due to non-utilisation. He said that the officials should focus on early completion of all the pending projects.
The TDP MLA said that only 5 months were left for the completion of the term of the present Council. Therefore, all the works should be taken up on a war footing.
He stated that proper implementation of projects could change the look and feel of the entire city of Hyderabad.
He asked the officials to ensure proper arrangements for the upcoming Ramzan and Bonalu festivals. He also demanded that Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain take stern action against the negligent officials. (INN)
