Missing Husband Case: HC Asks Government For Report
The Telangana High Court today asked the government to submit a report by tomorrow about whether Covid-19 patient Allampally Madhusudhan was alive or dead.
The Telangana High Court today asked the state government to submit a report by tomorrow informing it about whether Covid-19 patient Allampally Madhusudhan was alive or dead.
It also asked the state government why the latter did not communicate the news of his death to his wife till date.
The HC passed these orders while dealing with a habeas corpus petition filed by the wife of the deceased patient Allampally Madhavi, a resident of Vanasthalipuram.
In her petition, Madhavi urged the HC to declare the action of the state government in illegally hiding the whereabouts of her husband Madhusudhan as arbitrary, unlawful and harmful.
She also urged the HC to direct the state government to forthwith produce him before it.
Responding on behalf of the state government, the Advocate General of the state B S Prasad told the HC that Madhusudhan had died a couple of days back due to the coronavirus. This prompted the HC to ask the state government to submit a detailed affidavit in the issue by Friday.
The court then adjourned the case to Friday.
