The Telangana High Court today issued notices to the State transport minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and eight others in the suicide case of BJP activist Sai Ganesh from Khammam district.
The HC passed the orders while dealing with a lunch motion petition filed by a person.
The petitioner urged the HC to order a CBI inquiry into the issue.
The HC also issued orders to the State and the union governments in the issue, and asked them to submit their responses in two weeks.
It later adjourned the case to the 29th of this month.
Meanwhile, Kumar alleged that some people were hatching a conspiracy to get him removed from the State cabinet.
Responding to the allegations levelled by the BJP and some other parties that he be arrested for the death of Ganesh, the minister clarified that he was in no way related to the episode.
Speaking to the media after inaugurating a wedding function hall in Wyra town, Kumar claimed, "A few people belonging to a particular community are unable to digest my political growth. They have hatched a conspiracy against me to get me expelled from the cabinet."
He appealed to the people of the Kamma community to set aside their political affiliations and join together for fighting the conspiracies.
"I am only the minister representing the Kamma community in both the Telugu States. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has given me an opportunity in the cabinet, but some people are unable to digest it, and are hatching a conspiracy against me," he claimed.
For the unversed, a 25-year-old BJP activist, Sai Ganesh, committed suicide claiming that he was unable to bear the pressure from the Transport Minister. In his dying declaration, Ganesh said that he had attempted suicide after Kumar mounted pressure on the police and made them to foist a large number of cases against him.
Angered over the death of Ganesh, BJP leaders have been organising protests in Khammam demanding the minister's immediate resignation and asking the government to include him as A1 in the FIR.
