A minor mishap took place this afternoon at the venue of the Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam being held by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at his Erravalli farmhouse when fire broke out forcing the scared priests and the people to leave the yagasala for sometime.
As the yagashala was created with a thatched roof, the fire spread quickly, and burnt almost the entire roof. Three fire engines rushed to the spot promptly, and the fire was brought under control soon.
The ministers and police officials present on the occasion supervised the fire fighting operations.
The mishap took place a few moments after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu left the venue of yagam after taking part for a while in the religious event.
Religious gurus said that there was nothing to worry about the mishap, as the scriptures themselves had mentioned that the yagasala should be burnt at the end of the event. The fire just broke out a little early, they pointed out, adding that there would be no adverse affects.
Today was the last day of the five-day yagam.
